After signing with Idaho in 2010, and spending two years in Moscow, former Sacramento (Calif.) Inderkum athlete Demetrius Williams is back close to home, now playing receiver for Sacramento City College.
Williams, 6-1, 188-pounds, was a quarterback at Inderkum, but signed as an athlete at Idaho, and spent two years playing on the scout team.
An ill family member led him home.
Now Williams is hoping for a second chance at an FBS school.
"A lot of schools are still talking to me like they did in high school," said Williams. "I'm interested in the Pac-12, just like I was then."
Williams had 20 receptions in his first game of the year, and said schools are now checking in on him.
"I will graduate in December and be able to go somewhere for spring ball," said Williams.
Williams said that Idaho isn't out of the mix either.
"I talked to Coach (Robb) Akey recently and he knew why I left, because someone in my family was sick, and he said he'd love to have me back," said Williams.
San Jose State, San Diego State, Utah State and Portland State are also showing interest in Williams.
