San Diego State landed their second commitment of the 2013 class when point guard D'Erryl Williams of Sheldon HS in Sacramento (Calif.) committed Saturday night.

"I just felt a good connection with the people, coaching staff, the players, the whole environment, atmosphere," Williams said. It's where I want to live. I always wanted to stay in California; San Diego is one of the best places to live in California. Got good weather everything. I just did it."

Why now?

"I was just kind of sick of all the recruitment and stuff so I sat down with my dad, discussed it over and decided to do it tonight," Williams said. "Just felt it was the right time."

It was actually at P.F. Changs that the Bay Area guard broke the news to the San Diego State coaching staff.

"We were all eating at dinner and it was at the end, all the coaches were around," Williams said. "I just stood up and said I have to make an announcement."

What was everyone's reaction?

"Everybody stood up, happy," Williams said. "They let me order dessert so it was a really good time."

Williams HS/AAU and future college teammate Dakarai Allen said yesterday at Midnight Madness that he planned to seal the deal by Saturday. He wasn't lying.

"His reaction wasn't really surprised or anything," Williams explained. "He was just like finally!"

The savvy well built point guard is currently on official visit to SDSU and that visit swung the momentum in the Aztecs favor.

"I've always wanted to go to place for that college experience and get the whole package," Williams explained. "I feel like the San Diego State atmosphere has everything to show. I've seen it this weekend. I'm overwhelmed by all of this so I decided to commit."

With the commitment San Diego State gets a 4-year lead guard that is a proven winner, fitting in right away.

"For one I like to win, whatever I can do for the team," Williams said. "I'll find a way to get the win, get that last score by passing the ball or scoring, coming in playing defense. Its whatever I got to do to help them win."
