The Facts: #25 San Diego State at USC

#25 San Diego State defeated USC 66-60 on Sunday night...

THE FACTS: #25 San Diego State (4-1) won their 4th consecutive game of the season by defeating USC (3-3) 66-60. Jamaal Franklin had 17 points and 9 rebounds, and James Rahon finished with 17 points. Xavier Thames added 14 points.

QUOTABLE: "Out of the gate we were sensational with our defense – our defense created offensive opportunities. Our defense created offense. We went from tremendous depth to no depth. They did to us, what we had been doing to other people, they ate us alive. We were somewhat fortunate to get out of here with a victory. USC came at us defensively and with their size on the interior."

-- SDSU head coach Steve Fisher on the road win against USC.

THE STAT: The Aztecs were 7-of-15 from three-point distance and have made 18 in the last two games (18-for-42). In the previous three games, SDSU was 9-for-59 from behind the arc.

TURNING POINT: SDSU led 56-55 with 2:18 left in the game when USC big man Omar Oraby received a technical foul by striking Jamaal Franklin above the neck after Gio Fontan fouled him. Aztecs shot four free throws, making three, and received the ball. Franklin then hit a jumper on that possession giving SDSU a 6-point lead with 1:50 left.

THE NUMBER: 77.3. The percentage of free throws San Diego State made (17-of-22).

QUOTABLE II: "The immaturity of the emotional stuff, you can't overcome that against a good team. That's not acceptable."

-- USC head coach Kevin O'Neill on the Trojans technical fouls late in the game

HOT: Rahon stepped up in a huge way with Chase Tapley out. He connected on 6-of-7 from the field including 3-of-3 from downtown and 2-of-2 from the charity stripe.

NOT: Deshawn Stephens left the game with a hip pointer and couldn't return. He finished the game with only 5 minutes of action.

FRESHMAN WATCH: Skylar Spencer played 30 minutes against USC due to the injury of Stephens. He only shot the ball once, missed it, but did have 11 rebounds. Gave the Aztecs much needed quality minutes.

NOTABLE: San Diego State wins its 25th straight vs. teams from California, which is the longest active streak nationally.

UP NEXT: For San Diego State: Saturday vs. UCLA (in Anaheim, CA) and next Monday vs. Texas Southern. For USC: next Monday at Nebraska and next Wednesday at New Mexico.
