Mt. San Jacinto defensive end Roosevelt Pearson just finished his freshman season at community college.

"It went great for my first season of college," Pearson said. "We went 9-2 this season but lost our bowl game."

The 2014 prospect had 43 tackles and 5 sacks in his first year while earning offers from San Diego State and New Mexico State.

Pearson did express that he's hearing the most from the Aztecs as he has already been to two of their games: Army and Hawaii.

"I like the coaches," Pearson expressed. "I went to two of their games. They are a real good football team and I like the campus."

Pearson now stands at 6-foot-4 and 240 pounds and is hoping to gain 10 pounds of muscle this offseason.

The San Diego State coaching staff envisions him more as an outside linebacker so he'll have to add a little bit more size for the position.

Aztecs cornerbacks coach Tony White and Pearson set up an unofficial visit to SDSU for next Friday where a commitment is possible.

But Pearson explained he doesn't have a set timetable on when he would like to commit because he's hoping to earn more scholarship offers as 2013 progresses.

The talented JuCo prospect is also hearing from Kansas State, Oregon, Oregon State and Middle Tennessee.
