Fresno State is fresh off its upset over UNLV and hit the road to face No. 25 San Diego State, whom…
The Facts: Fresno State at San Diego State
QUOTABLE: "It's always nice to win. The bottom line is finding a way to win. It's a lot easier on the coaches and a lot less exciting maybe, but a lot easier to win in the fashion that we did today. Quickly, I'll tell you what I told the team. I thought that especially in the first half, but really as we played through most of the game, our defense was front and center. We talked about having to have effort because one of Fresno's strengths is how hard they play. I thought we had great energy but really good and smart defensive play. That's a good team. You can look at records but that's a team that has really played well lately. They get people shots and we didn't allow people to get good shots. That will win for you."
-- SDSU head coach Steve Fisher on the blowout win
THE STAT: San Diego State excelled in every facet of the game but it was inside where they dominated. Outscoring FSU 34-14 in the paint and 43-33 on the glass.
TURNING POINT: It was 48 seconds into the second half when SDSU turned it up to another gear. The Aztecs went on a 27-6 run over the next nine minutes and eight seconds.
THE NUMBER: 1,000 and 500. Franklin eclipsed 1,000 career points and 500 rebounds during Saturday's game. He became the 11th Aztec in school history to accomplish the feat.
"It is a good accomplishment, but I am just glad we won," Franklin said. "It is a big accomplishment, but a lot of people have done it. At the end of the day the accomplishment would have been bad if we lost (but) we won. So that is the biggest accomplishment to me."
QUOTABLE II: "It feels good. During the game I did not feel any pain so that is really good. Overall it feels good."
"I probably have another week or so. I am in treatment every day working with Tom Abdenour. Tom is one of the best trainers in the country so I am just going to continue to do that and get healthy."

HOT: The Aztecs offense. 11 total players scored for SDSU as they shot 26-of-52 (50%) on the day including 8-of-16 from beyond the arc. Most impressive was the ball movement. Chase Tapley set the tone by passing up good shots for great shots.
"Chase Tapley has become so good at playing with no agenda," Fisher said. "He's made it look easy. When the wrist is 100 percent, take what he is doing now and throw in how well he can shoot, we smile when we think about it. It was a nice team win."
NOT: The Bulldogs inside presence. Freshman 7-footer Robert Upshaw was missing in action due to a three game suspension (team rules) and the lack of size showed.
FRESHMAN WATCH: Both of the first year players stepped up on this night. Winston Shepard was finishing at the basket like never before this season, resulting in 10 points on 4-of-6 shooting in 17 minutes. Skylar Spencer continues to be the most effective big man for the Aztecs. He finished with 6 points, 6 rebounds and 3 blocks in just 19 minutes of action.
NOTABLE: Franklin went with no sleeves look for the first time this season.
UP NEXT: For San Diego State: Wednesday at Colorado State and Saturday at UNLV. For Fresno State: Wednesday vs. New Mexico and Saturday at Wyoming.
"It is going to be really tough," Franklin on the challenging week ahead. "For us and a lot of people on the team it is going back to what we did last year. If you didn't know last year we started off at New Mexico and it is going to be tough, but we know what it takes to win away games and we have been in that environment before so we just have to make sure we do what we did when we went into that environment and establish what we do."
