Buncom has unofficial offers from UCLA and UNLV. "I'm also hearing from San Diego State, Stanford, Oregon and USC." He expressed that USC does have a slight advantage in his recruitment because of his grandfather's history there.
As for this summer, "I'll be camping at UCLA and Stanford, and working on my straight line speed." Buncom had 50 tackles, 14 pass deflections and 2 blocked field goals this past year, his sophomore season.
Buncom said thay tackling is the strongest part of his game right now and is interested in the Aztecs, "because of Rocky Long's defense. They feel like I'm a good fit for the Aztec position with my balance of strength and speed."
St. Augustine made it to the D4 finals last season before losing to eventual State Champion, Madison High School. The Saints lose 4 starting offensive lineman, but expect, "A lot of great things," Buncom said to me about next season, "Tons of our skill position guys return."
