Interest Peaking for Holder

Tra Holder is quickly becoming one of the top 2014 point guards in the country. He led his team, Earl Watson's Pangos Elite, to the championship of the Pangos Spring Spectacular this past weekend in Las Vegas in front of 40+ coaches. In the three days since then he's picked up new offers from Arizona State and Florida State.

At this point in his recruitment Tra is claiming no favorites, "I'm keeping it wide open right now." He has planned upcoming visits to San Diego State and USC.

Tony Bland was his main recruiter at San Diego State, but his departure shouldn't hurt the Aztecs, "I like Tony Bland, but I'm still open towards San Diego State."

Holder is coming off a junior season in which he averaged 23 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists for the Brentwood School and helped them advance to the California State Playoffs. With basketball pretty much going year round for AAU players; Holder is looking to improve on a few parts of his game this offseason. "Being more of a leader, being more vocal on the court, and making the game easier for my teammates," are a few things Holder wants to get better at this summer.

"I've heard from Coach Dutcher and I talked to Steve Fisher on my way (to Vegas)," Holder said.

Following the AAU season, Holder will be trimming his list down, "Before senior year is a good time for me to decide." A big factor in his decision will be finding a school where he can fit in and get playing time. Recommended Stories
