"I'm wide open, but my top schools are Hawaii and San Diego State."

"With SDSU, I like the coaches and the staff and the way they run the program. They are taking the program to the next level, the academics are great, and I have friends that have gone there and they have said good things about it. I'm interested in sports medicine or business there."

"With Hawaii, I like the environment and the vibe the coaches send off. He said the way recruiting is that I could compete for a spot to play my freshman and sophomore year."

San Diego State was the first school to extend an offer to Jones, before his junior season. "With them being the first offer, it was before I had played on varsity. They were the first to give me a chance and no matter what schools offer they will always be in the running. The least I can do is always keep them in the running."

"I've been working out with my school, and then I work with an NFL player on my technique as a safety and playing man defense."

"I talk to Coach Lewis at SDSU the most. I like the way they're leading the program and how they control practices. They hold the players to a higher standard on and off the field. I like the competition there, and I've seen some of their games on TV," Jones said.

Jones isn't likely to make a decision very soon, "I'm thinking about waiting during senior year to try and pick up new offers. When it's right I'll decide, but I don't have anything set or planned yet," Jones said. "Playing time early is a bonus. My main thing is academics and where the coaches are leading the program for the future."

"I'm working on an unofficial to San Diego State soon, and then maybe one to New Mexico and Colorado State."
